Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026
This policy explains what information ArchBuddy ("the app") handles and why. ArchBuddy is designed to keep your work on your device and to use the network only where a feature needs it.
No account, no personal details requested
- You do not need an account or to sign in.
- The app does not ask for your name, email address, location, contacts or photos.
- The app does not use advertising identifiers, behavioural advertising, tracking pixels or analytics tools.
Information stored on your device
- Saved projects, project notes and saved calculator results are stored locally on your device.
- Preferences and display settings (such as light/dark theme and compact view), and whether you have seen the guidance notice, are stored locally on your device.
- Calculator inputs you do not deliberately save to a project are temporary and are discarded when you leave the calculator or close the app.
- If you export projects as a CSV file, the file is created on your device and shared only where you choose to send it.
We do not receive this locally stored information. Deleting the app removes it from your device.
Pro purchases — RevenueCat
The iOS app uses RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage the ArchBuddy Pro purchase and to confirm whether Pro is unlocked. When the app starts on iOS, and when you buy or restore Pro, the RevenueCat software in the app communicates with RevenueCat's servers. The information processed includes:
- An anonymous app-user identifier generated by RevenueCat. It is not linked to your name or email address by ArchBuddy.
- Your App Store purchase history and receipt/transaction information for ArchBuddy.
- Your Pro entitlement status (whether Pro is unlocked).
- Technical information needed to provide the service, such as device type, operating system and app version, country/storefront and currency, and IP address as part of the network connection.
ArchBuddy does not enable additional RevenueCat diagnostics or detailed logging in released versions of the app. RevenueCat processes this information under its own privacy policy.
Apple
App Store payments and refunds are processed by Apple. Apple handles your payment and Apple ID details under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment card details.
When the app uses the network
Core reference tools work offline. The following may require network access: purchasing or restoring Pro, checking your Pro status with RevenueCat, opening external links (such as GOV.UK guidance), and support email actions. External websites you open are governed by their own privacy policies.
Contacting support
We only receive information from you if you choose to email us. The support email form may prefill your platform, app version and build number; you can review or remove these before sending. We use emails only to respond to you and to improve the app, and keep them no longer than needed for that purpose.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold (in practice, support emails). For information held by RevenueCat or Apple, you can also contact them directly. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
ArchBuddy is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published in the app and at archbuddy.co.uk/privacy, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
